Latest News about Peter Jackson
At the Sitges Film Festival and in interviews with ScreenRant, Jackson confirmed that his next film as director will be a sequel to The Adventures of Tintin, which he co-wrote with Fran Walsh. He said the script is complete, and the project follows a 2011 plan in which he and Steven Spielberg were to swap directing and producing roles. He also said The Hunt for Gollum, directed by Andy Serkis, was nearing the end of filming.
Peter Jackson received an honorary Palme d'Or at the opening ceremony of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, presented by actor Elijah Wood. He credited the festival's 2001 preview of footage from The Fellowship of the Ring with helping the trilogy find its audience. The honour recognised his long association with Cannes, which began with Bad Taste in 1988.
