Parvatibai was the second wife of Sadashivrao Bhau, a prominent military commander of the Maratha Empire. She married him after the death of his first wife, Umabai, and became a trusted confidante of Shahuji. She was present during the Third Battle of Panipat on 14 January 1761 and was successfully evacuated from the battlefield by loyal soldiers of her husband.

Personal Life

Parvatibai performed pilgrimage at Mathura and Vrindavan during the Maratha campaign to North India.
After her husband's death in the Third Battle of Panipat, she remained a widow for the rest of her life, having promised her husband before the battle that she would not remarry.
She died in Pune due to pneumonia and was treated as Sati of Sadashivrao Bhau after her death. Her after-death rituals were performed at her hometown, Pen.
