26/08/2026
Australia selectors were reported to be assessing Nathan Lyon’s role after the Bangladesh series, with his place briefly under discussion because of the team’s push toward a stronger pace attack. Nathan Lyon reached 600 international wickets during Australia’s second Test against Bangladesh in Mackay, becoming only the fifth Australian bowler and the second Australian spinner to reach that landmark. He achieved the milestone in the second innings after being included in the side despite pre-match discussion about whether Australia should go with a more pace-heavy attack.
