12/09/2026 Mark Rylance starred in a remixed production of Molière's Tartuffe, in which the farce is relocated to a Nigerian-Jamaican family living in England. The production was reviewed in September 2026 and played at the Marylebone Theatre after rehearsals in August. A remixed version of Julius Caesar was also announced for the Omnibus Theatre later that month.
13/08/2026 In a BBC Radio 4 interview, Rylance criticised the UK government for not investing enough in the arts while increasing spending on arms. He argued that England does the arts remarkably well and that American directors value how English actors are trained.
29/04/2026 Rylance was announced to star in and make his feature directorial debut with the comedy Nice Fish, alongside Michelle Williams, Jim Lichtscheidl and Isabella LaBlanc. International sales were launched at the Cannes Film Market.
24/02/2026 Rylance and Shira Haas joined TriStar Pictures' feature adaptation of Kristin Hannah's novel The Nightingale. The film also stars Dakota and Elle Fanning, marking the first time the sisters have starred in a film together.
