La. Ganesan Iyer was a veteran Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) organiser and one of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) longest-serving leaders in Tamil Nadu.
He served as the 16th Governor of Nagaland (February 2023–August 2025), the 15th Governor of Manipur (August 2021–February 2023), and held additional charge as Governor of West Bengal (July 2022–November 2022).
He was the first Governor of Nagaland to die in office.
