Jonny Brownlee announced his retirement from professional triathlon at the age of 36, closing a career that included three Olympic medals and a world title. He said his body could no longer handle the training load after repeated injuries, and that his son and family had become his priorities. The announcement came shortly before the Supertri Pro Series finale in Jersey, which he had hoped would be his last event.
