He was the 18th Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition from 2015 to 2020.
He currently sits as an independent MP and is the parliamentary leader of Your Party, which he co-founded with Zarah Sultana in July 2025.
He was expelled from the Labour Party in 2024.
