Inoka Ranaweera is a former One Day International (ODI) captain of the women’s national team.
She hails from a small coastal town in Sri Lanka and grew up in a family not deeply involved in sports, but they supported her passion.
Excelling in academics and sports from a young age, she benefited from a local government school's platform to showcase her talent.
Her professional domestic cricket career began in 2003 with her debut for the Galle district.
Her international debut was on 17 May 2010 in a T20 match against West Indies, where she quickly became known for her left-arm spin bowling.
Inoka's successful bowling years were between 2015 and 2017, during which she captured 43 wickets.
She was selected for Sri Lanka’s team in tournaments such as the 2021 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier and the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
