Overview	Humayun Kabir is an Indian politician born and raised in Narkelbari, West Bengal. Kabir began his political career with Indian National Congress, West Bengal. In 2011, he won election as MLA from the Rejinagar constituency, in Murshidabad district as INC candidate. In 2012, he left INC and resigned from his post. He joined All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) where he served as Minister of State, Animal Resources Development till 2013. He was expelled from TMC in 2015 for anti-party activities. Kabir contested elections as an independent candidate in 2016 but lost. He joined BJP in 2018 and contested from Murshidabad in the 2019 general elections but was unsuccessful. He rejoined TMC in 2021 and won as MLA from Bharatpur seat. In December 2025, he was re-suspended from TMC and founded his own party, Aam Janata Unnayan Party in 2025. In April 2026, he was in the news for making controversial claims about Muslims in West Bengal.
