Enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi in 1984.
Started her legal career in the chambers of Sunanda Bhandare, who later became a Delhi High Court judge.
Later worked in the chambers of Y.K. Sabherwal, who became Chief Justice of India, and Virendra Jain, who became a Delhi High Court judge.
Practised independently thereafter.
Served as Legal Advisor to the Public Grievances Commission, Delhi Pollution Control Committee, National Agricultural Co-operative Marketing Federation of India, National Co-operative Development Corporation, and other organizations.
Was a member of the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee.
