Harrison Ford is an American actor best known for playing charismatic rogues in the Star Wars and Indiana Jones film franchises. Born in Chicago into a show business family, his mother Dorothy was a former radio actress and his father John William 'Christopher' Ford was an advertising executive. Ford discovered his passion for acting during his final quarter at Ripon College in Wisconsin when he took a drama class to overcome his shyness.
