OverviewClive Kunder demonstrated a lifelong ambition for aviation, pursuing his dream of becoming a pilot from an early age. Spurred on by the encouragement of his parents, notably his mother Rekha, an experienced air hostess, he achieved his academic qualifications in aviation and sought commercial pilot training abroad. He joined Air India as a co-pilot in 2017, where he had logged approximately 1,100 flying hours at the time of the unfortunate crash.

Clive was born in the coastal region of Karnataka and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
He was the first officer flying with senior pilot Sumeet Sabharwal on the tragic Air India Flight AI 171.
Clive completed his B.Sc. in Aviation at the Bombay Flying Club's College of Aeronautics.
After his education, he underwent pilot training at Paris Air Inc., USA, and later applied for a First Officer position in various airlines.
Clive was among the 241 individuals who lost their lives in the plane crash, while Ramesh Vishwaskumar was the only survivor.
At the time of his death, he was only 400 flying hours away from qualifying as a captain.
His parents were in Sydney during the crash and had to rush back to India for his last rites.
