02/07/2025 Duke University announced that retired Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. would join the university as an Executive-in-Residence for a two-year appointment. He was assigned jointly to the Sanford School of Public Policy and the Pratt School of Engineering, where he would co-teach a course tied to Duke’s American Grand Strategy program.
22/02/2025 General Charles Q. Brown Jr. was dismissed from his role as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff by President Donald Trump on 21/02/2025. Multiple reports said the move was part of a broader Pentagon shake-up, and Trump said he would nominate retired Lt. Gen. Dan Caine as Brown’s successor. Brown was later reported to have retired from the Air Force after more than 41 years of service.
