She was recognized with the Folk Jalwa Shreshth Praman Patra by the Uttar Pradesh Government in 2008. Chandan has also worked on a research project on rare Bhojpuri songs for the Delhi Government. She has performed various music forms like Purabi Sohar, Pachra Gandhi song, River Song, Chhath Song Kajri and Thumri. She has performed at national and international folk festivals, including events in Europe, promoting Bhojpuri and regional folk traditions.
