Reports in May said Casemiro was heading for a Manchester United exit after finishing the season strongly, with improved goal output and consistent appearances. The coverage noted that he remained committed to leaving at the end of the campaign rather than extending his stay.
Casemiro said his decision to leave Manchester United was final, despite a strong run of form under Michael Carrick. He explained that he wanted to play more regularly and would not reverse the move announced earlier in the year.
Manchester United announced that Casemiro will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the 2025/26 season. The decision ended speculation about a contract extension and confirmed that he would depart after four seasons at Old Trafford.
