Latest News about Brendan Sorsby
The Big 12 withdrew its lawsuit against Texas Tech that had been filed during the Brendan Sorsby eligibility dispute. Court documents said the case was voluntarily dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be brought again.
Reports said Brendan Sorsby and Texas Tech mutually parted ways on June 15 after the Big 12 filed a federal lawsuit seeking authority to sanction the school if he played. A Texas judge had earlier granted him a temporary injunction restoring his eligibility while he remained under NCAA investigation related to gambling. Later reports said the decision cleared him to play in 2026, but he would have to sit out the first two games of the season.
Brendan Sorsby dropped his lawsuit against the NCAA, which made him ineligible again and ended his college career. The move came after he had admitted to betting more than $90,000 on sports, including wagers placed through friends and by himself.
