Some Lesser Known Facts

Biswa Bandhu Sen grew up in Dharmanagar, Tripura.
In 2008, he contested and won the Tripura Legislative Assembly elections from Dharmanagar, defeating the CPI(M) candidate Amitabha Datta with 51.65% of the votes.
He again defeated Amitabha Datta in 2013 with 50.99% of the votes.
In 2017, he left the INC and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In 2018, he defeated CPI(M) candidate Abhijit De with 57.21% of the votes.
He won again in 2023, defeating INC candidate Chayan Bhattacharya with 49.35% of the votes.
Sen passed away due to a cerebral stroke while undergoing treatment at Aster CMI Hospital in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
