Hardeep Singh Puri said India’s fuel and energy supplies remained secure despite tensions involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz. He stated that the government had diversified crude sourcing routes and that there was no shortage of petrol, diesel, LPG, or LNG in the country.

Hardeep Singh Puri dismissed concerns about fuel shortages during the West Asia conflict and said India had adequate crude oil, LNG, and LPG stocks. He also said LPG production had been increased as a contingency measure to strengthen energy security.

Hardeep Singh Puri said India’s crude supply position was secure and that secured volumes exceeded what the Hormuz route would have delivered. He also referred to measures under the Natural Gas Control Order to prioritize domestic piped gas and CNG supply while managing industrial and refinery allocation.

The Union government conducted an internal review after Hardeep Singh Puri’s name appeared in documents linked to the Epstein files. Reports said the review found no evidence of wrongdoing by him, and the matter did not lead to any formal adverse finding.

Hardeep Singh Puri publicly acknowledged that he had met Jeffrey Epstein on a few occasions, while rejecting any link between those interactions and Epstein’s criminal conduct. His remarks came amid political attacks and renewed scrutiny over the meetings.
