Latest News about Ryo Hirakawa

01/11/2026

Hirakawa made his Formula One race debut for Haas at the Mexico City Grand Prix on 1 November 2026, lining up alongside teammate Oliver Bearman. At 32, he became one of the oldest F1 debutants in recent years. Official F1 results list him 13th in the race, while another results source lists him 10th after post-race penalties, so the final classification should be checked against the official record.

31/10/2026

Haas announced that reserve driver Ryo Hirakawa would replace Esteban Ocon for the remainder of the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend, a change the team did not explain beyond saying Ocon was not being replaced due to illness. Hirakawa had already taken part in first practice that day, and the switch gave him his first Formula One race start. He was also described as the current points leader in the WEC standings heading into the season finale at Monza.
