Latest News about Louis Oosthuizen
21/10/2026
Oosthuizen announced that he will not re-sign with LIV Golf for its next phase and will instead return to the DP World Tour in January 2027. He called the decision one of the hardest of his career, citing the travel demands of individual LIV events and a wish to focus on the majors. He is also leaving the Southern Guards team he captained since LIV's launch.

Oosthuizen withdrew from The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale because of a back injury, missing the year's final major for the first time since 2008. He also pulled out of the LIV Golf event in the UK the following week. His place in the Open field went to fellow South African Aldrich Potgieter.
