He was elected as Member of Rajya Sabha from Tripura on 24 September 2022, serving until 4 June 2024. On 25 September 2025, he was appointed as the deputy in-charge (saha prabhari) for the BJP's campaign for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections.
