Political Journey	In 2009, Tabassum Hasan was elected to 15th Lok Sabha for the first time from Kairana Constituency on a BSP ticket. On 31 August 2009, she became a member of health and family welfare committee and Standing Committee on Ministry of Social Empowerment & Justice. On 15 October 2009, Hasan became a member of Committee on Food Management in Parliament House Complex. Having defeated BJP rival Mriganka Singh by a huge margin of 44,600 votes, Hasan was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha (by-poll) in May 2018.
