The Haryana State Commission for Women directed the Superintendents of Police in Panchkula and Panipat to arrest Badshah and confiscate his passport. The action followed his failure to appear before the commission by the stated deadline in connection with the controversy over his song 'Tateeree', which was criticized for misogynistic lyrics and sexualized imagery.

Badshah posted a public apology on Instagram, saying he never intended to offend anyone with his song 'Tateeree'. He said the track was meant as a competitive hip-hop release rooted in his Haryanvi background, not as an attack on women or minors, and the song and its video were later removed from his official platforms.

Haryana Police began searching for Badshah and moved to issue a Look Out Circular after an FIR was registered in Panchkula over alleged objectionable lyrics and visuals in his Haryanvi track 'Tateeree'. The case escalated into a wider legal controversy involving cyber crime police and efforts to prevent him from leaving the country.

Badshah reacted to Arijit Singh's retirement announcement with a public message expressing admiration for the singer. His comment, 'Sadiyon mein ek,' was widely shared as a tribute to Singh's stature in Indian playback music.
