20/06/2026 The Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi government arrested Dr Vatsala Aggarwal, then former DGHS, in connection with an alleged procurement scam involving medicines, surgical items, and medical equipment. Officials alleged that irregular procurement practices caused losses of more than Rs 700 crore to the government exchequer.
23/05/2026 The Central Administrative Tribunal stayed the Delhi government’s transfer order against Dr Vatsala Aggarwal and ordered that the May 21 transfer remain on hold until the next hearing. She had challenged the order that placed her under awaiting posting status, and the tribunal sought the government’s response before proceeding further.

The order came about nine months after her appointment as DGHS, and an interim arrangement was made for the medical superintendent of Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital to look after the charge.
