Latest News about Marquinhos
Marquinhos received the UEFA 2026 Respect Award after consoling Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães following his decisive penalty miss in the Champions League final. He was unable to attend the ceremony because PSG had a league match, so he delivered a virtual acceptance speech instead. The award recognised the gesture as an example of sportsmanship at the highest level.
Marquinhos was highlighted after PSG's second consecutive UEFA Champions League title, with coverage noting his leadership in the club's historic run. The victory followed PSG's 2025 triumph and reinforced their status as the first club in the modern era to win back-to-back Champions League titles since Real Madrid matched the feat in 2016–17.
Marquinhos captained Paris Saint-Germain in the 2026 UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal in Budapest. PSG won on penalties after a 1–1 draw following extra time, securing the club's second Champions League title and back-to-back European crowns.
