Latest News about Francis Ngannou
Ngannou returned to mixed martial arts after roughly nineteen months away, stopping Brazilian heavyweight Philipe Lins in the first round in Inglewood, California. The win was his 19th professional MMA victory and came under the MVP banner rather than the PFL or UFC. The event was headlined by Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano.
MVP, the promotion founded by Jake Paul, announced that Ngannou would make his MMA comeback on 16 May 2026 in Los Angeles against Philipe Lins. The announcement followed his departure from the PFL, which he left on 6 March 2026 after a single fight in the promotion.
The Professional Fighters League ended its relationship with Ngannou, releasing him before the end of his contract. He had fought only once for the promotion, stopping Renan Ferreira in October 2024. The PFL said it wished him success in the next chapter of his career.
