Peter Kenneth Frampton is an English musician who rose to prominence as a member of the rock bands The Herd and Humble Pie. He later found significant success as a solo artist and is known for his signature guitar sound and use of the talk box effect.
Frampton became a successful child singer and professional musician at age 13 with The Wild Angels in 1963. He joined The Herd in 1967 as lead guitarist and singer, scoring several British pop hits before joining Humble Pie in 1969 at age 18 with Steve Marriott.
