Ashok Gehlot

Gehlot attacked the BJP over Rajasthan civic elections, alleging that councillors were being pressured and offered inducements to influence board formation. He also said the public mood favoured Congress and that the party would secure the mandate.

Gehlot criticised a Rajasthan government directive that restricted unauthorised entry, photography, and videography inside government schools. He argued that the rule would limit media scrutiny of school conditions and should be withdrawn.

Gehlot urged regional parties that split from Congress to return to the party fold and support opposition unity. He also called for Rahul Gandhi to be accepted as the leader of a united opposition front.

Ashok Gehlot said a "big conspiracy" within Congress had blocked his elevation to the post of national president. His remark came amid discussion of a possible organisational reshuffle in the party and revived a long-running internal political dispute.
