John Alford, also known as John Shannon, was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison at St Albans Crown Court after being convicted of multiple sexual offenses against two teenage girls aged 14 and 15. The offenses occurred at a house party in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, on 9 April 2022, where he gave the girls alcohol before committing sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old in the garden and bathroom, and assaulting the 15-year-old on a sofa. Despite his denials throughout the trial, the jury found him guilty of two counts of sexual activity, two counts of penetrative sexual activity with the younger girl, and one count each of assault by penetration and sexual assault on the older girl.
