OverviewAkriti Chopra began her career as an articled assistant at PwC in Gurugram in March 2008, gaining experience in finance, accounting, and audit-related assignments until April 2011. She joined Zomato in November 2011 as Senior Manager in Finance and Operations. She was promoted to Vice President of Finance and Operations in September 2012 and became Chief Financial Officer in 2019. In October 2020, she transitioned to people development, and in June 2021, she was elevated to Chief People Officer and named a co-founder of Zomato. During her tenure, she played a key role in establishing robust financial and operational frameworks that supported Zomato's expansion into over 25 countries, helped build the legal, risk, governance and compliance teams, and championed employee-centric policies emphasizing work-life balance, mental health, and career growth. Her leadership was instrumental in Zomato's growth to a valuation of over ₹46,000 crore, its public listing as the first Indian unicorn to be publicly listed, and recognition as one of India's most desirable places to work in tech. She resigned in September 2024 after 13 years with the company.
