Wing Commander Namansh Syal died in a HAL Tejas crash during a flight display at the Dubai Air Show. The aircraft went down during a low-altitude aerobatic manoeuvre and caught fire on impact, killing him instantly. His wife, Wing Commander Afshan Syal, later appeared at the funeral in uniform and gave him a final salute.
