Wing Commander Namansh Syal, an exceptional fighter pilot from the Indian Air Force, died in a HAL Tejas aircraft crash during a flight display at the Dubai Air Show. He was posted at Sulur Air Force Station in Tamil Nadu and had been commissioned in December 2009. His wife, Wing Commander Afshan Syal, was attending training in Kolkata when she received the news and later gave an emotional final salute at his funeral in Patialkar village, Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh.
