Miguel Uribe Turbay grew up in Bogotá, Colombia.
In 1990, his mother was kidnapped by a drug gang, resulting in a tragic rescue attempt where she was accidentally shot.
Miguel began his political career at age 26 by winning a city council seat.
During his time as Council President, he challenged the policies of Mayor Gustavo Petro.
In 2022, he contested elections and received the highest votes ever recorded for a candidate in Colombia.
On June 7, 2025, he was shot three times during a rally but survived after successful surgery.
