Dharam Singh Chhoker, former MLA from Samalkha, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate from the Shangri-La Hotel in New Delhi after evading arrest for over two years despite multiple non-bailable warrants. The case alleges siphoning of ₹616 crore from about 3,700 homebuyers in affordable housing projects in Gurugram through companies linked to the Mahira Group. He was remanded to ED custody, and the investigation also involved earlier action against his son Sikandar and asset attachments worth ₹80 crore.
