Latest News about Sourav Ganguly
The Delhi High Court declined to stop the theatrical release of the film Doosra, rejecting a plea from Sourav Ganguly that alleged his personality rights were violated. The court ordered the filmmakers to arrange a special screening to assess the claim, and the personality rights case is set for its next hearing on 29/10/2026. Ganguly and Luv Films LLP, which holds the rights to his biopic, argued that no licence was granted for the use of his image.
Reports said Sourav Ganguly and his wife Dona received death threats through letters sent over several months, prompting a police complaint in Kolkata. Ganguly's office also received additional threatening letters, and authorities began an investigation into the matter.
Sourav Ganguly was re-elected as president of the Cricket Association of Bengal, returning to the role after a six-year gap. The move marked a significant administrative comeback in Bengal cricket and was reported ahead of plans connected to Eden Gardens and state cricket development.
