| 1. Sanjay Arora is an IPS officer from the 1988 batch of the Tamil Nadu cadre. |

| 4. Arora previously served as the Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. |
| 5. In Tamil Nadu Police, he held the position of Superintendent of Police (SP), Special Task Force. |
| 6. Arora founded the Special Security Group (SSG) to protect the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu during the LTTE's peak in 1991. |
| 7. He has worked in various roles with Central Police Organizations like CRPF, BSF, and ITBP. |
| 8. His assignments include serving as a commandant in ITBP from 1997 to 2002. |
| 9. Arora commanded an ITBP battalion in Matli, Uttarakhand, from 1997 to 2000. |
| 10. He was an instructor at the ITBP Academy, Mussoorie, from 2000 to 2002. |
| 11. Arora led the Chennai City Police in different capacities, including Additional Commissioner Crime & Headquarters. |
| 12. From 2002 to 2004, he was the Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore City. |
| 13. He also served in roles like IG BSF, IG CRPF, and Deputy IG in various regions. |
| 14. Arora held positions such as Deputy IG of Police and Deputy Director of Vigilance and Anti-corruption. |
| 15. He served as ADGP in Tamil Nadu Police before joining the CRPF. |
| 16. Arora became the Director General of ITBP on 31 August 2021. |
| 17. He temporarily led the SSB in addition to his role at ITBP from December 2021. |
| 18. Arora served as DG ITBP until Sujoy Lal Thaosen took over on 31 July 2022. |
| 19. On 1 August 2022, Arora became the Delhi Police Commissioner, succeeding Rakesh Asthana. |
| 20. He is the second non-AGMUT cadre IPS officer to lead Delhi Police after Ajay Raj Sharma in 1999. |
| 21. Arora is scheduled to retire in 2025. |
