Radhakrishnan Parthiban

A bench of the Madras High Court issued notice on Parthiban’s petition seeking a legal framework for no caste and no religion certificates in Tamil Nadu. The case centered on his request for government guidelines that would enable such certificates to be issued through official channels.

The Madras High Court directed authorities to issue actor-director Radhakrishnan Parthiban a certificate recognizing him as having no caste and no religion. The order followed his petition seeking formal recognition of this identity, and the court allowed further legal action if the directive was not carried out in time.

R. Parthiban was among the film personalities who attended the farewell for actor, writer, and director Sreenivasan in Kochi. Reports noted his presence as part of the gathering of prominent figures paying tribute to the late Malayalam filmmaker and actor.

R. Parthiban announced that he would rename his character in his upcoming directorial Naan Thaan CM after concerns that the original name could be seen as disrespectful to a historical figure. The change was made publicly after he unveiled the film’s first poster, reflecting an effort to avoid controversy while continuing work on the project.
